My transition from cluttered to simple living.

And here is the rest of the story...

"Motivation is the activation or energization of goal-orientated behavior. Motivation is said to be intrinsic or extrinsic. The term is generally used for humans but, theoretically, it can also be used to describe the causes for animal behavior as well.  According to various theories, motivation may be rooted in the basic need to minimize physical pain and maximize pleasure, or it may include specific needs such as eating and resting, or a desired object, hobby, goal, state of being, ideal, or it may be attributed to less-apparent reasons such as altruism, selfishness, morality, or avoiding mortality."

We are taking our dreams from the shelf and we are moving on!  Thanks to the gentle prodding of a good friend, and motivated by a desire to "minimize pain, and to maximize our pleasure" and by the desire to live smaller, we have decided to move.

So... we found this...and knew we were home.

We did not venture far from dad.  We are close enough that we do not have to change our phone number, but we are going to live in a home that our children and their children can share and enjoy...
Our neighbours will be Llamas a, sheep and cow, Blue heron, and Otter, and birds of all description.

So please send positive thoughts and prayers for a quick sale of this home that we now live in, so that our dreams can be realized....now.

  1. Where (what state) is the new home in?

  2. I will send good thoughts and hope that it will sell soon. I remember a friend who buried a statue of St. Jude in the front yard to help her house sell, and it worked for her!

  3. You are gonna do what?! LOL, well, I wish you all good luck with this house deal and hope it goes as you hope. I'm not far behind you in doing the same thing, although we have absolutely no idea where our downsized dream-home will be. Oh well, it'll be fun to share your journey.

  4. Hello all!

First of all, the new house is in Ontario, near Orillia, Ontario, on the Trent System.

DJan...I am not certain where to find one ... I am willing to try anything!

We viewed and bought the house all in one weekend. Have you ever had a moment when you just knew that it was the right thing to do? It has approx 350 feet on an inlet. It is a one bedroom house but there are lots of places for visitors to stay.

The most important thing was that it was close to dad. It is 10 minutes away.

    So now the work starts!

Kim... I am missing your posts. You say you are going to downsize too... Are you looking yet? How about on the Trent Severn system? I would love to live near a fellow quilter!
