Overhauling a few more things....

Hubby and I have been a little concerned about the amount of diet pop that we have been drinking.  We both agreed that we may be slightly addicted to the stuff.  Its the bubbles...and the lack of sugar....that draws us.  We have though, known for a long time, that Aspartame is not good for us.  We did NOT know that Monsanto produces Aspartame.  That should have been enough reason in itself, to quit drinking the stuff.  The other day we were given more reason to quit.  It has been scientifically proven that the caramel colouring found in colas is cancer causing.  What next??

So...we bit the bullet...went to Costco...and brought home the beauty below, for $50.00  It comes with two cylinders which add the fizzzz to our drinks.  In the two days that we have had this, I have drank more water than I have in a long long time.

You can add any type of flavouring, purchased or homemade.  We have added juice.  I am looking forward to making rootbeer...and gingerale!

I am sure that there are many soda machines on the market.  We are really happy with this purchase.

  1. Congratulations on your purchase! I would definitely have one of these if I were addicted to fizzy drinks (which I'm not). You have made a big change, and it's going to show up in a positive way, I just know. :-)

  2. The pop thing is hard to kick. I kicked it when I found out there were about 7 teaspoons of sugar in each can. Great if a few bubbles make you drink more water.

  4. Cool! A much better alternative to pop. Do you think you could flavour it with different syrups like elderberry, currant, dandelion flower...? You could create your own wild soda line!

    1. You can Amber! I'm looking forward to trying all the above. The unit sells for so much more on their website. At Costco, just 50 bucks!

  5. Cool! How does it work? There must be a cabon cartridge hidden in there. I love fizzy drinks too, and have cut to once a week on our pizza night. I mean, eat pizza without rootbeer?

Oh, my gosh! I didn't know that about Monsanto. I'm sure they started out with visions of making North Americans happy, but it has all gone terribly, terribly wrong.

  6. I too am a diet Coke junkie and I did NOT know that Monsanto made Aspartame! That in itself is enough to stop eating and drinking anything with it! That machine looks great....will have to look into getting one for ourselves.
