Recipe:1 cup shortening1 cup packed brown sugar1/2 cup white sugarBlend until creamy...Add 2 well beaten eggs and blend again!In a separate bowl, mix ... and add to the shortening mixture...2 cups of white all purpose flour1 tsp salt1 tsp baking soda.Add at least 1 cup of chocolate chips. (I add more.)Bake at 375 * for approx 7 or 8 minutes...or until lightly browned.These cookies are excellent! Baked at home.... Enjoy!

I do use shortening. Have never tried margarine but I am not sure it would work. If you wanted a buttery flavour you could use the shortening that tastes like butter.
ReplyDeleteBoy am I glad you don't live nearby, or I would be forced to come over and help you out. My son loved these so much when he was little that I'll never forget going to kiss him goodnight and noticing that he had stacked a dozen of them under his pillow! He also had telltale chocolate marks around his little mouth.
