Fresh-baked bread!

Bread...Homemade...fresh from the oven! I have used several recipes lately, but the one I have had the most success with is the one from the Five Roses cookbook. I try to bake a loaf or two every week or so, and the house smells wonderful as the bread bakes!
I have recently been gifted with wheat berries, and hope to grind them and use them in this recipe.
Bread making can be a long process, but I prefer to make my own. Not only do i save money and gas but I also am assured of a quality product.

  1. Your bread looks simply delicious! I was thinking of making squash soup for dinner - now I might need to make bread, too...

  2. You have reminded me of the days of yesteryear when I used to bake bread. My favorite part was kneading it to perfection, and of course the baking and eating parts were fun, too.

You reminded me that scents are so incredibly efficient at stirring up memories!

  3. Definitely nothing quite as great as the smell of freshly baked bread unless it is having a bit of real butter and a knife handy to cut off a big hunk and spread it with that creamy yellow delicacy and watch the butter melt down into the warm bread! Sure is one of my favorite things to bake bread and then, to enjoy it that way!
